Joint Protest Against Violence (April 2026)
In April 2026, the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) joined forces with key civil society and student organizations—including the Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF), the Committee on Human Rights (COHR), the All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), and Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur—to stage a series of widespread joint protests. The movement was organized to strongly condemn the persistent cycle of violence across the state, specifically highlighting tragic incidents such as the attacks in Tronglaobi and the rising toll of civilian casualties.
The united front brought together community leaders, student bodies, and women’s groups to demand an immediate end to armed conflict, effective security measures to protect innocent lives, and accountability for perpetrators. By mobilizing diverse sectors of society, the demonstration underscored a collective public outcry against lawlessness, calling on both state and central authorities to establish genuine peace and restore safety to vulnerable frontline areas.
