Marking a significant milestone in Manipur’s public movement history, AMUCO organized the 28th Integrity Day observation in August 2025 at the GM Hall in Imphal. The event served as a solemn remembrance of the massive historic rally held on August 4, 1997, where hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to demonstrate an unprecedented public mandate in defense of Manipur’s territorial and political unity.
During the commemoration, organizational leaders, community elders, and civil society representatives gathered to reassess ongoing socio-political challenges and reiterate their core pledge: ensuring peace, mutual respect, and communal harmony among all indigenous ethnic communities living within the state. Key speakers underscored that true territorial integrity cannot exist without emotional and social integrity among the diverse ethnic groups. They urged all indigenous populations to resist divisive political narratives and work collaboratively toward a unified, peaceful future.
