The Manipur Peace Medical Mission (MPMM) is providing medical assistance at relief camps in collaboration with AMUCO.

Imphal, September 10 2023: Manipur Peace Medical Mission (MPMM) mission head Bipla Bhattachariya has said that most of the displaced people who are in various relief camps both in the hills and valley areas are suffering from traumManipur Peace Medical Mission (MPMM) mission leader Bipla Bhattachariya has stated that the majority of the displaced persons who are in various relief camps both in the hills and valley districts are traumatized.Bipla informed media on the sidelines of the Jan Andolan convention held on August 9 in Kolkata, West Bengal, with support from Sramajibi Hospital, Kolkata, in five relief camps opened in Churachandpur district from September 4 to 7, at Moirang College on Friday and at Wangkhei High School relief camp in collaboration with AMUCO on Saturday, that those present resolved to send a medical mission.

He stated that the Mission’s 13-member medical team performed health checks and distributed medicines to 62 people living in refuge centers in Churachandpur, 65 at Moirang College, and roughly 50 at Wangkhei High School.Bipla stated that because almost all of the displaced individuals living in relief camps were suffering from trauma and a lack of healthcare services and amenities, government officials must act quickly to alleviate their suffering.He also promised to hold such camps throughout the state in the following days.
