The event is jointly organized by the All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO), Poirei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi, All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Committee on Human Rights (COHR), and the Manipur Students Federation (MSF).
All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) will hold a mass rally on December 10 against the continued imposition of AFSPA as well as to demand the restoration of peace in Manipur.The rally was 5km march.Thousands of people are taking part in a large protest demonstration, which many believe perpetuates human rights atrocities by providing the military forces broad powers. Protesters also want an immediate halt to the terrorist bloodshed that has killed countless civilians in the region. The organisers stressed that the continuation of AFSPA has only exacerbated community distrust and dissatisfaction.
