As part of the All Manipur United Clubs Organisation’s (AMUCO) 32nd foundation day celebrations, which take place on February 12, four ponies were handed over to the Kakching District Polo Association today.AMUCO President Nando Luwang, Vice President M.M. Thambou, Kh. Rajen Meitei, Secretary General Pratap Leishangthem, Secretary Finance Momocha Takellambam, Secretary Organization Krishnachandra Laishram, Secretary Publicity Phoren Mangang, and President of Kakching District United Club Organization Thingnam Chaoba all attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, AMUCO President Nando Luwang emphasized the importance of the Foundation Day, which focuses on welfare and development incentives for farmers and workers.He stated that the activities include hosting free eye camps, providing assistance to vulnerable areas, and promoting cultural and traditional practices such as Polo.
According to the AMUCO President, the ponies were handed over as part of a bigger effort to promote Sagol Kangjei (Polo) and conserve the indigenous Manipuri pony.AMUCO, in partnership with KADUCO and the Kakching District Polo Association, intends to hold district and state-level Polo competitions as a prelude to the Polo Foundation Day celebrations.
